This plant pack consists of a planting plan, plants, fertiliser tablets, and plant protectors.
The 'Riparian Double Row with Juncus Pallidus' is designed for riparian planting purposes along streams and waterways. Riparian zone management has numerous potential benefits including stream bank stablisation and erosion control, reduced losses of sediment and nutrients from land, stock control and shelter, and flood mitigation.
Carex secta and juncus pallidus make up the first row, both of which are extremely tolerant to water and are planted right on the water's edge to provide bank stabilsation in times of high water. The second row, planted 1.5m behind the carex secta, consists of cortaderia richardii and coprosma robusta. These are both very tolerant to wet conditions, making this flatpack great for areas which are naturally wet areas where other species may not tolerate water logging. All species in this flatpack will be beneficial for slope stabilisation and filtering runoff. The coprosma robusta will attract birds, and provide shade for streams potentially increasing stream biodiversity and ecosystem health.
The planting plan is for an area 5m wide x 100m long.
